RMA SOCIETY — PRACTICE NOTES Give your practice a clear starting point. The business side of a migration practice is easier to manage when the everyday decisions are visible. Use these prompts to map out your starting point, identify gaps and choose your next action. 1. Describe who you want to help. Write a short description of the clients you expect to work with, the questions they bring and the experience you want them to have. Use plain language you could put on your website. 2. Map the work from enquiry to completion. List each step a client moves through. Note what information you need, what you send and where responsibility passes from one person to another. 3. Give important information a home. Decide where enquiries, client records, tasks and reusable documents will live. Make it easy to find the current version of something without searching several places. 4. Create a small set of reusable resources. Start with the messages and checklists you expect to use often. An enquiry response, a consultation preparation note and an internal task checklist are useful first examples. 5. Choose one thing to improve each week. Keep a short list of friction points. Pick a manageable change, try it in everyday work and review whether it helped. A useful system can begin very simply. A starting point to adapt to your practice.
